Brief & response
Invitation design for a high level client event being held at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. These needed to work as a set of 3 for each of the different events being held.
I wanted to use the idea of the Chelsea Flower Show displaying plants so decided to showcase flowers in my design. I selected close-up & very detailed flower images filling the space with them. Keeping a plain background & minimum text drew even more attention to the natural beauty & detail of the plants putting them on display.

Then by creating a semi-transparent sleeve for the invites, I used another flower image so that when overlapped with the invite inside, they created a hybrid plant. These work together to draw out detail & even make new ones. This also helped to achieve a delicate feel to the invite which was inspired by the delicacy of the plants.
For the main invitations, I selected a textured stock with a similar embossed pattern of the veins on the flower's petals. This drew even more detail out & also gave an ideal texture for the recipient.
